Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery

Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery is the oldest and the biggest Nursing Faculty in South-East of Iran. The Faculty is known as a pioneer in three pillars of nursing (education, research, and practice). It is also involved in the national level policy making and activities. Being involved in international activities (international students, collaboration, research projects) is also a part of its policy.

Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery is proud of its history of education fifty-five years and pioneering position in research. Established in 1962, this faculty has always been one of the reputed schools in the country and region.

The nursing education program was first initiated as a two-year hospital-based Diploma and then a three-year Bachelor’s Degree in nursing, Anesthesia, Operating Room, Health; however, it developed steadily over years and resulted in a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs that we offer today. History of this steady improvement is as follows: Bachelor of Nursing (1985), Bachelor of Midwifery (1986), Master’s degree in nursing (1990), Ph.D. in Nursing (2006), Master’s degree in Critical Care Nursing-Adult (2008), NICU (2008), and Counseling in Midwifery (2013). We aim to discover, disseminate and apply new knowledge through undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs of excellent quality and within a vibrant supportive learning and research environment.
