Shahid Bahonar Academic Medical Center

The first government hospital in Kerman is Shahid Bahonar Academic Medical Center. It was stablished in 1949 with 80 beds. The new hospital building with an infrastructure of 22,000 square meters was built in 2018. The hospital has a total area of 55,000 square meters and is located in the center of Kerman city, with various educational and research departments, receiving patients from the province in southeast of the country.

Most of the difficult and complex patients from this area are referred to this hospital. Currently, 301 beds are active, and about 1,400 experienced medical and nursing staff and personnel are working in the hospital.

Modern equipments are at the service of treating patients and training students and carrying out research and prevention projects. In this center, ISO 9001-2008 quality management systems, clinical governance, therapeutic and educational accreditation have been established and the main goal of implementing these standards is to try to satisfy clients and patients and improve the quality and the safety of patients and staff in the services provided.
